Take it seriously

The woman and I finally went to see Batman: The Dark Knight the other evening. It was pretty amazing. One of those movies, as the reviews have been saying, that hits everything just right. They handled it they way they should handle all comic book adaptations - true to the characters. Batman is a dark and intelligent character and the world he lives in chaotic. Don't pull any punches for political correctness or sense of what might be too much.. it's a great, crazy, dark and chaotic world - and they brought it all to screen.

Character development was amazing. Which, you would think would be difficult to do with so many characters in play. However, they did it flawlessly. No card board cut outs in this movie. Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker was spot on. You were just waiting for something to explode into chaos every time he was on screen.. I could actually see the woman squirming in her seat. Damn shame he died. His acting in this movie would have blow his career into the stratosphere.

So, overall, awesome. I hope DC (and Marvel, for that matter) keep up with this tone in their movies. Don't make the comic book adaptations "comic booky". Be true the characters and the stories and, obviously, the fans will come in droves.

Things about me

I ran across this "Personality Disorder Test" online today. So, for giggles, I took it.

So, here are my results:

Paranoid High

Schizoid Low

Schizotypal Moderate

Antisocial High

Borderline Low

Histrionic Moderate

Narcissistic High

Avoidant Low

Dependent Low

Obsessive-Compulsive Moderate

I must say, I am a little surprised at this. I would have sworn I should have scored HIGH in Obssesive-Compulsive...

Finding the time

Wow.. so Batman: The Dark Knight hit an all time movie record! It took in $155 million dollars to make it the best opening weekend ever at the U.S. box office. That's friggin huge! I really can't wait to see this movie!

Tough as hell to find time though, trying to match up my schedule and the womans so we actually have time - at the same time! Life is crazy.. I sorta feel like this little hamster most days...

No, seriously..

Ok, really now..

The Miss Universe competition was held this past week. U.S.A. lost.. you know why? Because THIS is the best we could come up with!

Come on! Really? That is the best we could offer? I see hotter chicks just walking around the malls! She looks like some alien/human hybrid. From what I can see, only Guam had an uglier chick than ours. That's just not right! I mean, Guam "hot" should be a far cry from U.S.A. "hot".

Think this system needs a review process. Perhaps, someone with good eye sight to start.

Red is my color

Hey, I got a new cell phone! One of these babies!

The thing is friggin sweet! Fast, easy to use, easy to text with, tons of short cuts and features, MP3 player, video playback, 2MP camera, direct link to the PC.. its features are endless! I love it. Huge upgrade from my old flip phone. Got the woman one as well.

Funny, I use to say I hated cell phones. But now? How do you get along without one? Look around you day in and day out. Everyone has one! It's ridiculous in some ways, I know people who can't afford McDonalds for lunch, but damn, they sure won't give up paying $100.00 a month for that cell phone with the internet plan!

I also ended up getting one of those silly bluetooth ear things so I can talk wirelessly. Pretty nifty thing too, hands free conversations. Great for driving, good for mutlitasking...

Damn, I am such a techno geek.

I got Kung FU'ed...

OK, so, we indeed went to the movies the other night. We roll in to see Wall-e. Get the tickets, go in, Usher says "theater 6, to your left".. cool.

We get in, my plan seems to be working brilliantly. A few kids, but not many people at all. They are all out ready to watch fireworks! Excellent.

The trailers seem to te be starting late.. wtf.. maybe there are milking it for more people to show. Finally, the movie starts!

Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Fucking Panda! We are in the wrong theater! Upon inspection of the tickets that the stoned prick usher said was theater 6... was actually theatre 16! Brilliant. Teach me to double check shit like that in the future.

Anyways, the theater was cool and gave us free tickets to come catch any show in the future. For now, Wall-e will have to wait a bit.

Also, my disdain for stoned out movie ushers and kung fu pandas has hit an all time high.

Movie Time

EEP! Thought I did an update a few days ago.. seemes I passed out or something from exhaustion instead,

So, the woman and I finally saw Iron Man. Cool flick. What I really love about movies is the fact that after the movie is over, the women then tells me

"I didn't think I was going to like it but it was good!" ...

Give her more credit than me.. If it's a movie I think will suck I don't go anywhere near it! Especially at the current prices.. what the hell is it now? Like $10.00 a person? That's friggin retarded!

With that said, the sucker that I am, we are off to see Wall-e today. Battleplan is, to go right at sundown so all the parents have their rugrats out watching fireworks and not in the movie theater. Hopefully my strategy will work to minimize the kid factor during the flick.

Seems like a really good summer for movies though.. Iron Man, Wall-e, Hulk, The Dark Knight... Nice change from a lot of the rehashed garbage.. Which reminds me to talk about the mess that will be the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still later on...
