Busy doesn't even describe it

Bah! Yeah, I know! You are asking "Where the hell are the posts, Mayhem?!"

Well, I am super busy with work right now, last week, this week, and next week. Meetings, trainings, more meetings, corporate visits, resets. Should be all over and done with after next week. But for now, sorry about the lack up posts.

I am going to finish off all this busy bullshit by catching Iron Man next week when it comes out. I am already reading reviews that say it is just fantastic. Apparently, the movie was completely under the control of Marvel Studios and not the typical goofs at the Hollywood studios. Marvel did not have to compromise with what they wanted to do for this movie and their character and property. That's a good thing. Too often in comic book movies the studios get involved and fuck the history or the characters all up to hell.

Glad to hear the reviews are raving positive so far. It will be something to look forward to to get me through the next mess of a week.

That reward sucks

Sorry for the lack of posts. This past week has been.. oddly distracting. However, two days off now! Fracking shame I get to start my morning with a HUGE headache. I feel like I'm going to start bleeding out of my ears soon.

I have noticed a disturbing trend at work and, I wonder, how many other people are suffering from this. The issue involves goals. You know, if your boss or company give you a goal to hit. Of course, as has always been the case, if you fail to hit that goal, they bitch and gripe about it. The new disturbing part comes in when we actually hit the goal! What is our new reward? A BIGGER goal! What - that - fuck ?!

A great example is this month, I am suppose to do $800.00 in a certain service. Now, I have already done the $800.00. So, yay us, we have hit our goal for the month! When the boss asks how much we have done and I give him the answer.. his response? "Need more."

Need more?? The fuck you do! My goal was $800.00! I hit it! I'm done! Go yell at someone else! If you wanted me to to $900 or a $1000.. just give that fucking goal to me! Don't give me $800 then tell me you need more after I hit it! The absurdity of it all!

So, in case you all were wondering, the proper term for this is: Bullshit! Say it three times fast.

Ahem, so, anyways.. FHM Magazine has just released their 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll! At the top? My personal fave - because she is just amazing - Megan Fox! Woot.

Don't forget your violin

OK, I am not sure if I should feely sorry for this dude because of his loss or his stupidity.

So, he is taking the train home from just getting his 17th century violin appraised, as one is apt to do from time to time. (the violin in question was appraised at $390,000!) What does he do when he leaves the train? Well, forget the fracking violin, of course!

I mean, come on!! How the hell could you forget it after someone just told you it was $390,000!! I mean, I could fairly easily forget the woman on a train, but a $390,000 violin? No way!

Of course, the dude called the train company once he got home but, surprise, no violin to be found!

CrAzY

Hmm, one would think a day off would be fun and stress free! Oh, but how far from the truth that statement is! It really makes me wonder.. WHY?!

Yes, very cryptic post today, fits my current mood, though.

No more remakes!

Ok, seriously, does Hollywood have any original story ideas left? I mean, we get a few once in a while, but what do we get bombarded with? Remakes! Frickin remakes!

Now, they key logic point regarding remakes is this:

1) If the original movie sucked, why would you want to remake it? Oh, to make it better, you say? Well, if it sucked to start with, no one cares now, anyways. No studio is going to say, "Oh yeah! Lets remake that stinker!"

2) If it was awesome, why the fuck remake it?! You don't screw around with greatness! Plus, if it was a great movie to start with, how much can you actually improve on it?

Case in point, God help us, they are remaking The Day the Earth Stood Still! How can you possibly remake this classic Sci-Fi movie? It is a classic! It is a perfect movie. Remaking it is rediculous.

So, Hollywood, STOP already! Hire people with original ideas and stop this remake into crap bandwagon you seem to be on. Jeesh, next thing you know they will want to remake The Planet of the Apes!.. oh, wait...

Legends live on

I am not a huge, huge movie buff, but I do know what I like in movies and who I like as actors. One of those actors was the great Charlton Heston, who, unfortunately, passed away today. Heston was one of the badasses of all badasses. He stared in such amazing movies as The Ten Commandments, Planet of the Apes, and Ben Hur. BEN HUR! (which won 11 Academy Awards!) Epic stuff. Always sad to see one of the "greats" pass on. But, what an unbelievable legacy to leave behind.

Someone is watching you

Someone is watching you and, that someone, is BayTSP, Inc. If you are a peer to peer file sharer, be warned, these idiots are looking for you. From what I can tell, these guys have a search engine geared to watch who is sharing what via some of the various peer to peer file sharing programs. Basically, if you have sharing turned on, they can look and see what you have shared in terms of files. Their system takes those files names and sifts them for matches to movies or TV shows from the companies that hired them (NBC Universal being one of them). They are looking for "copyright" material that you should not have on your PC.

If the find a file that you are sharing that matches up, they will record your IP address, date, time.. then send your ISP a "take down notice" to forward to you. Apparently, this company is issuing several thousand take down notices a year. Amazingly, this piddly company only has some 55 odd employees geared to harass the general peer to peer community.

If you get one of these threating notices (which will sound all very legal and threatening. It will also threaten that your ISP will shutoff your net access within 24 hours) don't panic! First, your ISP, by law, has to forward these messages to you. Second, the message will also ask you to go to a BayTSP's website and fill out a form stating that you "have errased or deleted the infringing file and that it is no longer on your PC). Don't do that! Admitting your guilt, is what you basically are doing. The thing is a threat letter from a shit company that is pushing legalities.

It seems they can only track files that are being shared, though, not ones that you are downloading. There are various programs available which I won't get into that can stop them from seeing into your PC when you are sharing. So, unless you are familiar with such things, make sure your sharing is turned off on your peer to peer program.

I am not sure how far this company can take anything, especially if they track multiple "infractions" from the same person. So, if you peer to peer, remember, someone is watching you. Take the appropriate steps to keep them blind.
