Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone!
This past year has most certainly had some bad things as well as some very good things. Such is the flow of life I suppose. I definately prefer the happier things though. But who doesn't, right? Hoping that the upcoming year of 2007 is full of happy, good things. Because, well, life with bad things just sucks!
The woman and I are just kicking it at home tonight catching up on some Battlestar Galactica episodes. The funniest part of the evening though was the woman's excitement at catching the ball drop in her home town of New York. She made the mistake of tuning into the crap local station here - Channel 3.
Apparently they had a pre-new years show running for at least the last half hour. About one minute to midnight, this show ends (roll credits). The station runs a commercial or two and then the local crap news starts and they immediately start showing the New York count down from 10 seconds. Bam! At New Years they hang on the countdown sign for about a second then cut to some couple mashing faces for about 10 seconds, then a cut to the streets of New York which lasted about 2 seconds. Then they cut to downtown Tempe, AZ (where we have our own sad, sad celebration) and they continue with the non-festivies from Tempe!
I was dumbfounded and the woman livid! The words that exited her mouth at that moment would make a Marine blush!
